Description
Fern Lake is a very simple, easy-going trail that has a couple of options along the way. Many casual hikers stop at the falls halfway up the trail to eat lunch and watch the blue jays as if the aspen groves, boulder gardens, and rushing river were not enough. Others can push on to the second half marked by many small waterfalls and bridges. It dumps out in a small valley dampened by a lilly-filled lake. At one end a majestic snow-capped peak towers high above.

Directions to Hike
Take HWY 36 to Estes Park and enter the Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail is near the entrance of the park on the west end of Moraine Park.
