Description
A strenuous but exhilerating hike that follows Fall Creek up to Blue Lake. The Lake sits right on the tree line and to the WNW west is Cameron Peak (12,127). If you still have a little extra energy you can hike up the ridge to the north and get a fantastic view of the Medicine Bow range. The hike is covered by Aspens and pines and during their migration season, Elk can be frequent. During the winter months the trail is heavily snow packed but is just as gorgeous in skiis or snow shoes. Although nesteled out of the way in northern Colorado, it is one that should not be overlooked.

Directions to Hike
Take I-25 north from denver to Ft. Collins. Take the Hwy 14 exit at Ft. Collins and travel west for 4 mi. Take a right and go north on hwy 287 out of town (14 will follow 287 for some time so don't be alarmed!) until you see a sign for 14 in a spec of a town called Ted's place. You'll turn right and enter the Poudre river canyon. Follow 14 up the canyon twards Cameron pass for 60 mi or so and just past chambers lake you will see a sign on the right for the Blue Lake trailhead. Pull over, park, and head up the trail.
