Description
a little long but well worth it. you go over 3 passes piaute, muir, and bishop. on top of muir pass you can see the muir hut built by the seirra club. there are 2 ranger stations a long the trail. there are many many lakes and rivers a long this hike so water is always available. almost as available as the great views along this trail.

Directions to Hike
take 395 to bishop from bishop head west 14 miles on hwy 168 to the north lake south lake junction and from there head 3 more miles to the trail head
