Description
Short hike on a fire road. Easy to follow, great with kids; only 600 ft of elevation gain, 6 miles round trip. Fire road goes for two miles, then branches - take the right branch (signed '1 mile to dead end'). Top is one mile farther up. Its an 'antenna farm' but it is quiet and has some great views out to the Mojave desert. Later in morning watch out for 4WD vehicles on first two miles of road (they go left at the fork, 25 miles down to desert!).

Directions to Hike
In San Bernardino Mtns. 40 miles up Hwy 38 from Mentone/Redlands area, 10 miles east of Big Bear. At highest point on road (marked 'Onyx Summit') is a turnout on east side of road. Park here and follow dirt road up to the east.
