Description
Moderate terrain, the trail rises about 1,000 feet to reach the top of a ridge, then drops down to the beach. Very dry; no water along the way. Campground at Wildcat beach requires reservations through the National Park Service. There are several other camping areas in the park that also require reservations.

Directions to Hike
Hwy. 101 north of San Francisco, then take Hwy. 1 north to Olema. Stop at the Visitor Center to get permits, even if you already have a reservation. Then go back about five miles to the trailhead staging area just off the highway.
