Description
This is the long but easy way in. It starts at Hobo Gulch and follows the N. Fk. of the Trinity River for about 10 miles, passing the historical Jorstad Cabin (about one mile past the cabin, I saw a Mountain Lion). You then turn up Grizzley Ck and follow it another 8 miles to beautiful Grizzley Mdws complete with waterfall. To get to the lake you must scramble up the left side of the waterfall about 700 feet. Even though this is the easy route it involves distance, fast water fords, elevation gain and rock scrambling. On the other hand, once you reach Grizzley Mdw, you'll know all is well.

Directions to Hike
On Highway 299 15 miles west of Weaverville(ranger station), turn north on East Fork Road. Go 17 miles, following signs to Hobo Gulch trailhead and campground.
