Description
Easy for the first 2.5 to 3 miles. Then climbs very steeply via switch backs, upto the pass. Waterfalls along the way. Lundy's canyon is full of aspen, quite lovely in the fall, especially against the steep, jagged canyon walls. There are also a couple of waterfalls that were still flowing in early october. The pass is at about 10,000 feet. The remainder of the trail is fairly level and passes through a high basin, with beautiful glacial lakes. Pretty good fishing from the looks of it. Trail ends at Saddlebag lake.

Directions to Hike
From coastal California or the central valley, go east on state hwy 120 (Tioga Road) all the way across Yosemite National Park till it meets US Hwy 395. Go north on 395 for a few miles. There are signs for Lundy's Canyon (you need to turn left from 395). Follow signs to the trail head at the end of the canyon.
From the eastern Sierra or from the east, just follow directions from US 395
