Description
I took this hike in early winter which, if prepared, may be the most enjoyable time of year. Light snow covers the ground but the trail is easily seen. It's best to leave before dawn & permit rest along the way. Beautiful above the cloud views of surrounding peaks, redwoods, running streams, few people.

Directions to Hike
From highway 10 (east from 15 or 215), take highway 38 east which passes by the ranger station where parking permits must be obtained. Just continue along that road to Vivian Creek trail parking.
