Description
The hike to Kennedy lake is not very difficult if you are in decent shape. The meadows and mountains around Kennedy lake are extremely beautiful and although the bog is annoying to walk through its really not that bad. I kept my boots on and hiked strait through it. When the got too deep I just walked back and hiked a little farther up the hillside and went forward again. There are not a lot of good established places to camp or many tall trees right near the lake so bring a tent that can deal with a bit of wind. Also bring a fishing pole because the lake has tons of fish in it. This is one of my favorite shorter backpacking trips in the Sierras.

Directions to Hike
Highway 108 east, Kennedy Lake resort turn off. Parking is only free in the parking area aways from the trailhead. You have to pay to park in the resort parking lot next to the trailhead.
