Description
Beautiful hike, Spectacular views. You start at about 6500ft and end up about 9500ft over the first 5.6 miles at Emerald Lake. It was Labor day weekend staring on the previous Friday and we had the whole lake to us alone. 9 to 10 inch trout were ready to jump at anything we threw into the water. Nice shady campgrounds Very nice Rangers. It was so lovely we stayed there 2 nights. Sunday we moved onto Pear Lake. We were surprised by the fact that it was an almost full campground. We still found a spot. Fishing was just as good, but it was a bit more windy in the early evening. The trip was well worth the effort. We made .9 mph on the way in - and made 3 mph on the way out. Just the way I like it!
