Elk Lake..Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, Montanaby Backpacker12 This is a pic of Elk Lake taken summer of 2006. It\'s the last lake you\'ll see before you finish \"The Beaten Path\" a 26 mile hike described many times over. Always a beautiful environment to soak up...even after the fire. The pic is looking up the drainage. Note the insect life taking flight...burned trees and a wonderful sandy beach. And yes, the trout were biting that day!
