Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Forest, Michiganby pitts Day 1 day-hiking in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Forest. This is the 4.3 mile Escarpment Trail. This trail is along a ridge line that overlooks the Lake of the Clouds and surrounding valley. The views are fantastic and the hiking is fairly easy. We hiked this with 4 adults and 4 kids. The kids ranged from 2 to 11. The two year old was in a kid-carrier style backpack.
The second day was spent hiking in the Presque Isle area. See the other set of photos for what this area looked like. We wanted to see waterfalls and there were three nice ones that were of easy access for us and the kids. Number Pictures:35 Date Created: 8/14/05
